Run-Walk Fitness
Have you ever thought of running a 5K but don’t know how to train for it? Perhaps you'll like the company of like-minded neighbors as you go on a walk or run?
The Lake Edge Neighborhood Association invites you to join our Run-Walk Club, the first of many series aimed to further engage residents. The Run-Walk Club is a plan developed and based on the "The Couch to 5K" concept to help beginners get into running. The concept works because it starts with a mix of running and walking, to gradually build up your fitness and stamina. It creates realistic expectations and makes the challenge feel achievable right from the start.
We will celebrate the end of the series by entering an official race as a team! Details to come...
Dates and Times: Every Thursday evening from May 26 from 6:30*
Location: Meet at the Quaker Park off Buckeye Road
What to wear: Comfortable workout clothes and supportive running shoes
What to bring: Water bottle or running watch
